Cecilia Gonzalez
Cecilia Gonzalez comenzó sus estudios de danza clásica en su ciudad natal, Neuquén, Argentina a los 5 años de edad. A los 18 años, ya en Buenos Aires, inicia su inagotable búsqueda de nuevas formas de movimiento y expresión, estudiando danza contemporánea, artes marciales, como Kung fu y PaKua, yoga, contact improvisación, danza teatro y música.
Comienza sus primeros pasos de tango en 1990 en la Academia de Gloria y Eduardo, luego siguió su formación con Mingo Pugliese, Gustavo Naveira y Fabián Salas.
Desde 1994 estudia los dos roles del tango, creando así un sincretismo que la lleva a una comprensión del baile mas allá de las definiciones clásicas y tradicionales, algo fundamental a la hora de enseñar y transmitir esta sutil y profunda danza.
En 1996 y 1997 acompaña a Osvaldo Zotto en Festivales Internacionales y seminarios en USA y a partir de 1998 comienza a viajar por Europa y USA, en algunas ocaciones sola, algo novedoso para la época y en otras, con algunos de los mas grandes bailarines de su generación como Fabián Salas, Mariano “Chicho” Frúmboli o Julio Balmaceda.
La precisión técnica, la fluidez de sus movimientos y una notable capacidad de improvisación caracterizan su baile.
Su basto conocimiento y su pasión por la enseñanza hacen de Cecilia González una maestra de baile muy apreciada. Ha enseñado en Argentina, Uruguay, Brasil, Mexico, Cuba, Italia, Francia, España, Suiza, Alemania, Turquía, Grecia, Islandia, Estonia, Dinamarca, Líbano, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malasia, Singapur, Canada y Estados Unidos.
Ella es invitada continuamente a realizar seminarios y participar de festivales alrededor del mundo. Actualmente está radicada en Rio de Janeiro, Brasil y viaja en forma regular a Australia, Nueva Zelanda y USA.
Cecilia Gonzalez began her classical dance studies in her hometown of Neuquén, Argentina at the age of 5. When she was 18, already in Buenos Aires, she began her endless search for new forms of movement and expression, studying contemporary dance, martial arts, such as Kung fu and PaKua, yoga, contact improvisation, dance theater and music.
She began her first steps in tango in 1990 at the Academy of Gloria and Eduardo, then continued her training with Mingo Pugliese, Gustavo Naveira and Fabián Salas.
Since 1994 she has studied the two roles of tango, thus creating a syncretism that leads her to a better understanding of the dance beyond the classical and traditional definitions, something fundamental when it comes to teaching and transmitting this subtle and profound dance.
In 1996 and 1997 she accompanied Osvaldo Zotto in international festivals and seminars in the USA and from 1998 she began to travel around Europe and the USA, sometimes alone, something new for the time, and also with some of the greatest dancers of her generation such as Fabián Salas, Mariano “Chicho” Frúmboli or Julio Balmaceda.
Technical precision, fluidity of movement and a remarkable ability to improvise characterize her dance.
Her vast knowledge and passion for teaching make Cecilia González a highly appreciated dance teacher. She has taught in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Iceland, Estonia, Denmark, Lebanon, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada and the United States.
She is continually invited to give seminars and participate in festivals around the world. She is currently based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and travels regularly to Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
